Packing for Your Indianapolis 500 Trip

Each year, people travel to Indianapolis in order to view the Indianapolis 500 race in person. For people who do not travel a lot, it is important to pack appropriately for the trip to see the Indianapolis 500. Here, you will find many tips on packing your suitcases for the Indianapolis 500 trip.

Many people make the common mistake of packing too much when they travel to view the Indianapolis 500 race in person. It is important to understand that it is always better to take as little as possible when you are going to see the Indianapolis 500. Taking more than you need may prove to be more of a burden than it is worth. Commit to taking one small suitcase and pack it with the necessities for your trip to see the Indianapolis 500. Seeing that you will be traveling on Memorial Day weekend, and the Indianapolis 500 takes place outside, you may consider traveling with a backpack to make things easier on yourself.

When you pack for your Indianapolis 500 trip, you should ensure that you pack a few first aid items. You should also pack a few preventive items as well. Since the race is outdoors, you may want to consider taking sunscreen in order to protect your skin while outdoors. Many people who have hair that is easily damaged can also bring along a leave in conditioner that is designed to protect the hair from the sun. You may also consider bringing a hat or visor in order to protect your head and face. Many people also bring sunglasses so that their eyes are protected while in the sun. This is also great for overcoming the glare that may be caused by the race cars in the Indianapolis 500.

When you pack for your Indianapolis 500 trip, make sure that you include clothing and shoes that will be comfortable for you to wear outdoors and for many hours at a time. You may have an outfit that you think looks really nice, however, if you are not comfortable in that outfit, your mind will be off of the race and on your discomfort. You will also want to pack shoes that are comfortable to wear outdoors and to endure many hours in. At the Indianapolis 500, you may find that you are on your feet quite a bit and you will want to have the most comfortable pair of shoes that you have on and not the most uncomfortable pair.

Last, you should ensure that when you pack for your Indianapolis 500 trip, you do not pack anything that you place a high value on. There are many cases where people have lost their luggage with something important in it. Other people have lost important items because they were stolen. Whatever the case may be, you do not want to fall victim to either situation. If you do happen to experience one of these scenarios, you will not lose anything of value as long as you do not bring it.
